Objectives




The following objectives reflect the general philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist Education at Richmond Academy.

  1. To assist students in gaining a growing knowledge of God as Creator and Sustainer of life.

  2. To provide an environment conducive to the development of Christian character.

  3. To encourage students to assume a growing responsibility for unselfish service to mankind and to identify themselves with the church and other organizations that emphasize service as an ideal.

  4. To help students develop healthful living habits.

  5. To help students acquire a strong academic foundation.

  6. To enable students to think critically.

  7. To encourage students to make ethical Christian decisions.

  8. To provide opportunities for social growth consistent with church standards.

  9. To help students apply Christian principles as they use their God-given talents.

  10. To provide opportunities for students to develop values and talents.

  11. To provide learning experiences that are based on materials and methods of instruction that reflect Seventh-day Adventist values.

  12. To help students develop intellectual curiosity.

  13. To encourage life-long learning.

  14. To provide an educational program that challenges each student to educational excellence.

  15. To develop an appreciation for the Bible as the Word of God.

  16. Tp help students develop a prayer, worship and faith experience.

  17. To encourage students to recognize God's ownership of human resources.

  18. To assist students in developing an appreciation for the worth of all people.

  19. To challenge students to develop a personal mission for taking the Gospel message to the entire world in preparation for the soon return of Jesus.

  20. To provide students the opportunity to develop an appreciation for the values and dignity of labor.
